Central Taekwondo Academy was founded in 1993 by Grandmaster David Bailey (8th Dan).  Classes have been running successfully at Carronshore Hall in Falkirk for well over 30 years.

 

GM Bailey has nearly 50 years experience of promoting, teaching and competing in taekwondo and is one of the highest ranked and most experienced instructors in the UK.

 

GM Bailey represented Great Britain at three Senior World Championships and after retiring from main-stream competition, went on to win World Masters Games gold in 2013.  He has held the position of High Performance Coach with the GB Poomsae Squad since 2016.

 

Under his leadership, Central Taekwondo Academy has welcomed over 2,500 students and has produced well over 250 top class  black belts, a testament to his commitment to discipline, perseverance, and high standards.

 

Several Central students have progressed to the GB Olympic Programme in Manchester and become full time UK Sport athletes.  The club also boasts many British Poomsae Champions, reflecting the club’s strong tradition of developing athletes for national and international competition.

 

His focus remains the same as it was in 1993 to help students build confidence, strength and discipline through the art of taekwondo.
